Long Form, First-Person blathering:
I'm a Social Media worm, a lifelong geek, sometimes an artist, always proud of my Midwestern roots, a business sponge, and on a quest to make the internet a friendlier place for my mom- and a more symbiotic space for humans everywhere.
.
My approach to design is a hybrid of User Experience Design and User Centered Design processes and values. I'm a believer in aggressively seeking information about human needs, and in balancing research findings with design vision.
.
Keeping usability front and center with consistent interaction patterns, information architecture that is scalable and intuitively blueprints to both the content strategy and the business narrative, and a parallel visual design strategy that makes page hierarchies, webforms, and informatics cut like cognitive butter, are all foundation points I draw upon heavily in my work.
.
Run-on sentences: just generally famous for.
.
Creative Direction, Art Direction, and Branding were pivotal disciplines I drew from years ago, when my focus as a designer was print media. Bringing the same holistic approach that those skills encompassed into my current work-- promoting user engagement through meaningful experiences crafted in collaboration with product, marketing, engineering, and business development teams-- is at the core of my special-sauce.
.
I'm also a proud graduate of Ann Arbor Community High in my homestate of Michigan, a former motorcycle racer, and an alumni of the Youth Residency program at Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater house in Bear Run, Pennsylvania. Yep- I sat in those dining-room chairs for a few meals, and they are more uncomfortable than any teenager should ever be subjected to.

When not at work, I enjoy petting other people's dogs at Farley's, corrupting today's youth through instruction in bicycle mechanics and metal fabrication at The Crucible, following the Detroit Redwings while cursing their opponents*, riding the slopes at Kirkwood, and a few other things.
